Moving on
I just have to say thank you to everyone for your wonderful comforting words. My heart is filled with your kindness and love.
There is still a Robbie shaped hole in the house, and I expect to see him tottering down the drive, or struggling up from his bed to greet us, but life moves on. Busy, busy week ahead - do drop by later and see what's going on.
Thank you again xxx

ReplyDeletedifficult and sad time, we know from past experience. Takes time to heal. Hope Junior isn't too badly affected by the loss. He looks pretty intent on some project or other there in the sand! Best.
ReplyDeleteSending lots of hugs your way! xx
ReplyDeleteOh I know that feeling when you think you see something out of the corner of your eye. I still, on occasions, mistake our black chicken for a cat we lost nearly 4 years ago!!
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued by what else you have up your sleeve though, hope this week is kind to you.
xx
I fee4l for you all, I hope you find something to keep you all in good spirits this week. x x x
ReplyDeleteRobbie will always be with you and your family. Take care.
ReplyDeleteBe kind to yourself and enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteKettle on any time at my end if you need to offload, "smile".
Hugs and Blessings

ReplyDeleteNew to your blog, so sorry about the loss of a treasured family member. They give us so much.
ReplyDeleteI, like James was blessing with 3 older siblings. Bless my parents who were so much more patient when I came along.
Beautiful blog, thank you for sharing!
Sorry to read about your loss. The calico-colored, cat-sized hole K'Mere left some years ago is now filled with pleasant memories of our shared life. So maybe in time ...
ReplyDeleteI remember when Sherry our loved golden retriever died when I was a child and that my father threw titbits onto the floor for weeks after she had gone just for my mother to pick up! It just takes time. x
ReplyDeleteah yes...i remember after we lost our Rosie, i would still step over her on my way out of the kitchen -- even though she wasn't there.
ReplyDeletemuch love to you...xoxox
After all the words, your picture of your child alone on the beach finally cracked me. I hope you all feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteMemories of all the times I have held an animal while it moves on...

Thank you all again. We are fine - really. And James has been great. He was there at the end, and became very upset when we got back to the car, so he had a long hard cry. We had a walk along the river side and talked about how sad we all were, and he has been fine since. He will talk about him, and he told us last night that there was a new star in the sky now, but really hasn't been too upset.
ReplyDeleteMeggs - you are right - he is so like John. When you see old photos of him at the same age, it is uncanny!
