Another week over already! - What reminders of the last Seven Days did I find in my camera?
A beautiful sunrise - earlier now - the light is surely returning to this Northern land
The remains of a pleasant afternoon tea, and memories of a lovely visitor.
A light frost be-jewelling the mosses.
A handsome neighbour wishing us Good Morning.
A new (secret) hideaway for a boy.
My first home-made cheese.*
And finding little scenarios of play, here and there around the house.
So many joys and blessings surround us - moments to treasure as we go through our days. Wishing you a wonderful and memorable Seven Days ahead. xxx
*I will be sharing the cheese making project in a separate post soon. x
So many joyful and beautiful moments, full of reasons to smile. Love your handsome neighbor:)) Looks like a great week! Can't wait to hear how the cheese making is going! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend! ~ B
ReplyDeleteGorgeous handsome neighbor - what a lovely set of curly horns!
ReplyDeleteThe ram photo is greating card great! Love the shot of your sons play spot with the stuffed kitties. (My baby is 20 and I miss those play days.)
ReplyDeleteI thought I left a comment earlier but it seems to have walked away:)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a really lovely week full of beautiful moments! I LOVE the photo of your neighbor:))
Have a great Sunday! (what is the time difference from me to you?) ~ B
Fabulous photos, especially that sheep, oh and the moss, and the play scene... looking forward to the cheese story!
ReplyDeletelove your poppy cups and James' fun wellies. how did your cheese work out? what kind is it?
ReplyDeletewow to the sunrise, wow to the cheese and always wow to your beautiful island. Finding evidence of play around the house is the best isn't it, enjoy your next week mama x
ReplyDeleteThe cheese project sounds exciting - if it tastes as good as it looks it should be wonderful. Dredging my memory banks here, but have you ever made Crowdie? I have fond memories of tea time on the croft next door to us, a reward for helping out on the croft. Thanks for the lovely glimpses of the island. x
ReplyDeleteYour week looks to have been beautiful...what lovely bright days and blue skies you have had.
ReplyDeleteMuch love
It is such a relief to have more light.
ReplyDeleteI never tire from seeing the wonderful colours in your scenery and that sunWOW, makes you glad to be alive!!
ReplyDeleteLast night I finished reading Katherine Stewart's first book about crofting, then this morning I found your blog! A happy coincidence? Your posts are beautiful and make me feel like we are chatting over a cozy cup of tea. I've not read all of your posts yet, but I have read about your lovely dog Robbie. We too, used to have a lovely, lovely rough colle. Tiffin grew up alongside our three children and when the time came for us to make that last visit to the vet's, it broke our hearts. Tiffin made it to 14 too. Have you seen the film, 'Marley and Me'? Oh, I really cried and cried when the poor dog in that film was put to sleep. Our children (also 2 boys and a girl) were about the same age when it happened to Tiffin.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it's lovely that you have a new dog in your home and hearts. Unfortunately we are not well enough to have a dog anymore.
You probably have loads of readers, but here's one more from deepest Cornwall.
Kay
Jacqui, even though we are an ocean apart I almost feels like I am there sharing your days, I adore these posts!
ReplyDeleteWhat a simply lovely week you had and I am very excited to learn all about cheese making!
It looks like you had quite a wonderful week!! The light is returning here, as well. I don't feel like it's been much of a winter and there's still no snow in sight for at least the next week. : ( Your photos are wonderful!!

Happy seven days! I keep meaning to do something similar but never really get around to doing it.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a good week.
Thank you all - so glad you popped over.
ReplyDeleteThe cheese is a simple cream cheese, but I am giving it a couple of weeks to ripen.
Kay - hello - how nice of you to leave a comment. Strangely another lovely blogger friend sent me a copy of Katharine Stewart's book last week. I had never read her before, but I am dipping in and out - really enjoying it.
I am so sorry to hear about your dog - i would never be able to watch that film - it would be too much. xxx
brooke - we are about 6 hours ahead of you.
xxx
And i have just discovered that i can reply personally! I had noticed lots of you had this feature, and i finally got round to working it out. xx
DeleteYAY!! :)
DeleteYay to you to, lovely Mama xx
DeleteLove the toys....looks like a trip to a theatre to me the way it's set up. Thought of you today as I was trudging up a hillside to help a neighbour with lambing. We have snow now, and so I'll be a stand in shepherd for the flock near us in case the real one can't get down. They're all in lamb and so far two have needed to be taken to the vet for c-sections. I am praying that doesn't happen on my watch!
ReplyDeleteWow Kelly - can you be here around the second week in April, please? We will have 5 ewes Lambing then. It is their first time - and ours too! xx
ReplyDeleteLovely, the last picture is something I find so often here - always makes me smile especially the days when I have no idea what is going on!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week x
Lol Dawn. He did tell me later that it was the church, with big people at the back and children down the front. xx
ReplyDeleteWe're definitely in the time of growing light. The feast of Sun Return - what book is that from again? 'A Wizard of Earthsea', isn't it? (off to check..)

ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteThe cheese making is exciting! Will look forward to your recipe: i have often wondered whether to try making simple cheese at home but it sounds complicated once you enter the territory of adding cultures etc. Eek!
Hope it turns out well for you!
Beautiful photos as always. Thank you for sharing your day and your life so I can live vicariously through you! Each picture screams of the UK to me.
ReplyDeleteYour handsome neighbour looks a bit menacing, i wouldn't want to meet him when he's in a bad mood.
ReplyDeleteI'm new here and love to read about your life on the croft.
Love the photo of the "ram???" ~ not even sure what to call it! Something we don't see around these parts. So fun to see different parts of the world and what roams about them!
