In the Springtime of the year

It's a slow start to spring this year. We've had a few days when we can feel a whisper of promised warmth and sunshine, but we are being blasted again with wind, hail and rain. It's been a long drag of a winter.
I've been away from the blog for a couple of weeks - a bit blown out myself, I suppose. James and I have been ill - just end of season colds, which we're getting over. John has started more chemo, and hasn't felt too good some days and the dog isn't well! He's been to the vet and we are waiting on test results coming back.
We've had family home, with more coming to stay over the Easter.holidays, and I've been busy with a couple of fundraising events for the school. It's all felt quite hectic, really.

I'm guessing that blogging might be a bit intermittent as the days lengthen again. I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter and her family, and there is a lot of work to do outside. I'll pop in when I can, with the odd update, catch up or photo.
Wishing you all a blessed Easter. Xx

  2. good to *see* you again! sorry you've been unwell....i had the smug thought the other day that we'd escaped winter fairly unscathed in the illness department but then banished the thought in fear of tempting fate...;)

enjoy your family time -- it's the richest of treasures -- and hopefully the promise of warmth delivers soon.

  9. Jacqui, thank you for your early spring report of what's going on in your part of the world. Here in NYC we also are yearning for more signs of spring...like some warm days when we can leave our down-filled coats at home!

I wish you and yours a very Happy Easter. xo

  18. My prayers go out to all of you, no matter how large or small you burdens are - God walks with you on these paths and helps you to simply place one foot in front of the other and keep going. I wish you a Blessed Easter and pray the latest chemo works. I love your photographs of new sprouting flowers - what greater joy is there after a long hard winter then to see the purple, yellow, pink, white heads bursting forth reaching for the warming sun. May your days be filled with warm sunlight and happiness.

  20. I hope you're all feeling better now. I'm sending good thoughts your way. It's been such a long, cold winter. Today was the first perfect spring day here in New York. The sun felt so good. Before long, I'll be avoiding the sun as much as possible but, for now, it feels wonderful. : )
