Where we are now
Hello - it's been a while. I've been pretty busy, getting on with bits and pieces, lots of family visitors have been with us, and more plan to be here in the coming months. Broadband signal has not been great on the island for some reason either, so there hasn't been the same incentive to haul out the laptop. John has had a couple of more spells in hospital since I last posted, and hasn't been doing as well as we hoped. A new round of chemotherapy has been delayed, until his blood results improve, and his mobility has decreased. It is a strange place to be, this, but it is where we are. I guess life has contracted right down to the basics, and we are living in a bit of a bubble right now. A very blessed bubble, mind you, as we draw together and try to work our way through this.
Love to all xxx

ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you again. Prayers and hugs from New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteI have been a silent follower of your blog for a few years now. I now live in Sweden so following your postings brings my dear Scotland a little closer and has given me an insight into a completely different lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteMy husband had a serious but local form of cancer diagnosed about 18 months ago. Thankfully after a year of hard treatment that shadow has now gone from our lives. This gives me a tiny insight into what you are going through.
As Jane above, says "Your write with such grace" - so well put. I think this is the reason I have become a regular follower. The grace shines through all your postings. I believe that this inner grace has given you and your family the strength to bear the trials you are going through. I would say you are living a life distilled down to its essential components - the love, the care, the capturing of and appreciation of precious moments, the constant faith.
Unlike you I am not a religous person, but still there´s a prayer in my heart for you which I add to all the others expressed here.
Thinking of you in far-away Sweden

you are in my thoughts often, Jacqui...so it's good to hear from you again.
ReplyDeletei understand exactly what you say about life contracted down to the essentials -- 2015 has been a difficult year of loss and sorrow for me and if there's to be any "bright side" to that, it's that it has taught me what truly matters.
love and prayers to you and your family,
xoxo

Thank you for taking the time to post. I had wondered how you are. Our world gets small indeed at such times, and you need to know that's ok. Open up in little ways as you can. Allow yourself to receive, as you are pouring out so much right now.

It's so great to hear from you! I check almost every day and when I do not see a new post I begin to worry. Then I remind myself that worry doesn't help anything but prayer sure does. I do hope you know people all over the world are praying for you and your family. Wrap up in that for a bit.
