This week, I have loved having my younger daughter, Kristine here for the first time. As well as enjoying her company, it has been such a pleasure watching her fall in love with this island.. Almost immediately, she claimed the camera, and I would see her heading out the gate to capture the same beauty that first entranced us. This week, then, the snapshots are hers. I hope you enjoy seeing our home through her lens.
The Callanish Stones are always the first place to be visited.
Then the beach.
The sky, the land, and the water,
and the random beauty around us.
It is, indeed, a place that captures your heart and never lets go.
We were sad to see her go, and hand over the camera again, but I have a feeling that - just maybe - we will be seeing her here again very soon!
Oh how lovely.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous place to live, I am happy for you living in such beauty and appreciating it so. It is wonderful.
Your daughters photographs are stunning.xxx
It is very very beautiful and inspiring! Excellent photos too. Are you as bothered by the midge as they are on Skye??
ReplyDeleteYou do live on a very beautiful island indeed.... maybe one day I will be lucky enough to see it for myself. One of my sons friends parents have a home there.... One thing that does intrigue me is how she managed to photograph herself departing :)

Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteEek - the midges are here, but not as bad as I have experienced on Skye. We don't get that many days without even a tiny breeze, which keeps them away - but they are around, taking their chances.
Sue - lol! Sunday morning posting ;) I have edited the text a bit now.
xx
beautiful photos indeed....
ReplyDeletei can't imagine why she'd ever want to leave....;)
i'm glad you mentioned the bugs -- i've often wondered if you're plagued with them -- i think your midges are the equivalent to our blackflies...are they teeny and vicious and draw blood when they bite?
i think your bogs and whatnot must be similar ecologically to bits of northern ontario and that's a beautiful, yet desperately insect-infested place...
thanks again for sharing your beautiful home...
xo
such lovely photos... thank you for sharing this beautiful place you call home through your daughter's lens
ReplyDeleteIts a funny mix isnt it, you are pleased to see them independent and happily managing without you (most of the time), but at the same time you wish you could rewind the clock. And funniest of all, the humor you over it lol.

How lovely to see your home through the eyes of your daughter. You really have found one of the most beautiful places to live. Is your daughter maybe moving there? xx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. She certainly has your talent for photography. I love the picture of the night sky through the branches. It's just stunning.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular!!!
ReplyDeleteAs much as your daughter may be tallented with a camera, your landscapes are truly awe inspiring !
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, thank you to Kristine! My favy one is the sheep jumping. I do hope she takes some inspiration and island peace away with her until she returns.
ReplyDeleteI see she is as talented as you are with the camera. I have had The Hebrides and North Wales on my bucket list for a long time. The photos just reinforce my choice.
ReplyDeletelove the photos you too- glad to hear you had a nice visit.

ReplyDeleteGood job mama, way to woo your girl. Bring her to a magical island and hand her a camera.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Where did she get that talent? Her pictures are wonderful. Reminds me of someone else on the Croft.
Blessings, Debbie
Thank you - she really appreciates all your lovely comments.
ReplyDeleteKristine would love to move up, so she is actively looking for a job and flat in town. We'll see what happens - fingers crossed. xx
