Corners of my home

This is my rather messy corner of the living room. Here I sit - usually in the evening, doing a bit or knitting, reading or watching TV. The table has a few favourite family photos, and a green glass fish ornament that I love, alongside a drink coaster and headphones for listening to my latest talking book. I sit here and chat with my family and friends, cuddle my grandchildren, sip cups of tea, or glasses of wine. It is a cosy spot, my little corner.
But it was here I sat on Thurday evening when my world collapsed around me, as I listened to our GP tell us the xray showed that my husband's back pain was not the arthritis we had originally thought, but was, in fact a secondary bone cancer. I felt the chair envelop me and stop me from melting onto the floor, as her words swam around in my head. From this chair, I heard her quiet voice as she answered my husband's questions. He had a feeling about this from the onset of the pain...
Today we are flying off to the oncology unit on the mainland, for tests and beginning of some treatment. Family and friends are rallying round, and we feel very held and supported by them. It's a road many have gone down before us, but not a way we expected to go ourselves. Who does? If there is a way through, we will find it. Until then, can I ask that you remember us in your prayers, and thoughts. xx

Oh Jacqui, I am so terribly, terribly sorry to read this. I will add my prayers to all the others lifting you up. You once, years ago now, advised me to "fall back into the arms of Love". That image kept me going through some very dark times. Blessings on you and your family. Much love from here xoxox

What a blow... I'm so sorry your family are having to go through this. I've been through awful times and know the value of keeping God close in prayer. We are not sent anything we cannot deal with, though it may be very hard, so just tell your troubles to God. Whatever the outcome, love never dies.

  56. Jacqui, I just saw your twitter post and wanted to say that I'm thinking of you. Please send my love on to the big fellow, and let him know you're all in my thoughts, I'll let the cearcall guys know as I'm sure they'll all want to send on their best wishes too. I'm sure it will be of little consolation but my mother in law has been getting treatment between SY and INV for a number of years and has always had positive experiences with the care she's received and I'm sure they'll take great care of him.
Hang in there lady, it's not going to be easy but you'll find your way through.
    Much love xx

I know the cearcall guys will want to send on their wishes too so I will let them know. It may well be of little consolation but mother in law has been receiving treatment between INV and SY for a number of years and they've always taken great care of her. It's going to be rough, but hang in there lady, you'll get there.
