Seven Days

Living quietly, enjoying tiny glimpses of sunshine - there may be a summer yet! Good food, a little crafting and some list making - with coffee and salted caramel brownie on the side, and some early morning chess games have featured in my days this week. But then a tumble resulting in a sprained ankle served as a timely reminder that those lists might have been getting a bit too long... and so I am being still - I am just being still- honestly...

My Uncle was obsessed with them from childhood , they are thus legendary in my family. He even wrote a book about them:

  8. Yes sometimes our bodies force us to slow down and take a much needed rest, you are never far from my thoughts and if you and the wee man fancy a holiday break, we have a lovely caravan parked right outside our kitchen door!!

Oh poor you! I twisted my ankle badly a few years back and it's no fun. I hope you are getting some help with chores, and perhaps some helpful exercises to do. I seem to recall standing on one leg and balancing on the ankle (once I was back on my feet) was very good. I'm glad you have cake, and chess. Keep looking for the good. You are an inspiration. Bless you (both). X

  17. I'm so sorry you now have a sprained ankle to contend with. When it rains it pours, doesn't it?? Take each moment as it comes. The days and months following my husband's passing were an emotional blur. I didn't feel like my feet were back on the ground until several months afterwards. My two younger sons slept with me. I needed them as much as they needed me. I knew it was time to boot them back into their own rooms one night about six months later after they were driving me crazy jumping all over the bed and being happy little kids again. The healing process is so different for everybody. Feel better my friend!! xo

  18. Hi Jacquie, Afraid I've been out of the Bloggo loop recently. Writing music journalism leaves little time for yet more words on the side. Sorry to learn about the passing of your other half. Hope all is well with you - despite the ankle and summer arrives eventually!
