  1. We went to see that play, too on opening night. Were you there? I really like the peat exhibition in Lanntair at the moment. Lovely photos as ever. Pizzas look ace.x

  3. My hubby and I went to the Isles of Lewis and Harris about 25 years ago and I still remember the smell of the peat burning. We couldn't figure out what people were digging out of the ground until it was explained to us. Here in New England we use wood to heat our house as it is plentiful.

    1. Hi Kristin - it is still very popular here - particularly with the rise in oil prices, people are going back to it. We don't have many trees here , so wood is not really an option xx

  14. I have just found you from the Green Parenting forum and have loved reading and I'm sure I'm going to get hooked on your beautiful blog! Crofting in Scotland always seems like an idyll to me although I'm sure it's much harder than my romantic ideas!
