Five - One
Well, this is me at 51. A bit of a blurry shot, but not always a bad thing sometimes, especially when I am tired. It has been a busy and lovely day, and I am really happy to be who I am right here and right now.
I just really wanted to pop in and thank you all for your lovely messages and birthday wishes. I appreciate every single one and I am holding them all in my heart.
I will be drawing the name of the giveaway winner tomorrow!! James and I will attempt a live video draw, so do watch out for that. Nighty night xxxx

Happy birthday!! and its a lovely photo!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! You're lovely. And I love your hair. I've been coloring mine for so long, I'm not sure how to stop -- picturing myself with gray roots & brown ends for the next 2 years is scary ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday. You look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I really enjoy reading your blog. I do not have a blog of my own but I have learned so much from reading all the wonderful blogs I read. The area you live in is just breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteWishing you every happiness as you embark upon the "next half"! You're living a life of such beauty and intention...thank you so much for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteI'm turning 47 on Wednesday and decided to start learning the cello a few months ago. I figured I'll never be as young again as I am now, so why not? So here's to all of us who choose the road less traveled and find each other at the crossroads!
Best wishes, good health & happiness for the year ahead. x

Wish I had looked so good at fifty. Unfortunately, I will never see 50 again not even with bifocals and a rear vision mirror. Hope you had a lovely time for you big day.
ReplyDeleteDeb
You look radiant...absolutely radiant.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone. Such beautiful comments.
ReplyDeleteI read a lovely passage that an online friend posted yesterday about how we often strive to be a different person other than what we are, and if we would just allow ourselves to unfold ...how would that be? That resonates so much with me now.
Gigi - until 2010 I had long long hair which I was always colouring or highlighting, but I was unhappy with the grey roots showing through. Almost on a whim I had a short crop and embraced the grey. I posted a picture at the time, April -ish?
Thank you all again xxxx
Fifty One you look more like Thirty One. Happy Birthday:)
ReplyDeleteScottish air must be better than the air down here in Southern England .
Have a great week.
Blessings
Julie
Happy B-day Jacqui - nice to see you.
ReplyDeleteYou don't look a day over 21!x
You have got to be kidding Jacqui...I hope & pray that I look as great as you in a few years time! You hair is fab, what is your secret?? Happy, happy birthday my lovely xxx
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Jacqui, you look lovely in that photo, even if it is blurry lol. I read a blog post recently about someone having a vintage dressing table, and not realising for 10 years the mirror was slightly 'dusky' and she had been blissfully unaware of how many wrinkles she had, I think I may get one for my birthday next month. Although she did say, she had also been wearing too much lipstick for ten years as a result too lol.

I'm a wee bit late here, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You look absolutely fab, and your hair is GORGEOUS! :) xx
ReplyDeleteYou look young to me!! Love the hair color and the length. I plan on not dyeing my hair when it gets gray (I've got gray strands right now)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! You do look great!
ReplyDeleteyou look wonderful! My Mum embraces the grey and once a tourist came up to her in the street and in broken english thanked her for keeping it natural.
ReplyDeleteMuch love x x x
Many happy returns of the day, Jacqui. You are looking well and happy and quite content in your photo. I, too, just celebrated a birthday (65), but posting a pic of yours truly might scare off what few readers I have. LOL Happy Birthday, and many more.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to a very beautiful girl ! (I am turning 50 in a couple of weeks). I remember running across a link which was your 'other' blog, about menopause, and I really would love to join in on the party there. My man thinks I'm a Weird One for likeing to sit out on the near-freezing porch so often. :) You go girl...keep up the loveliness and Loving Your Life is the best influence you can give to those whom you touch. Really ! ~Jen in N.California
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful picture - hope you had a lovely day xxxx

ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday! Five-one isn't so bad (from the perspective of a year further on). And it's good to be grey - I went grey very quickly around 40 and have never been tempted to dye it.
ReplyDeleteI had to add another comment and be number 51:) it was too tempting to resist. You look amazing for 51:) and I hope this is your best year yet!!! Happy Birthday!! ~ Barefoot Mama
ReplyDeleteHappy 51! I'm late I know, but wanted to congratulate you anyway :) I'm enjoying your advent writing!
