Seven Days

So many things happen in our busy lives that I want to hold on to. Little things - things that might go unnoticed, or missed in the hurly burly. Nothing special and yet - oh - how completely special!
The last Seven Days have been busy - filled with sunshine, community and celebration. Wonderful Autumn days - so many moments that have brought joy to my heart.

♥ Golden sunlight, setting - much earlier now - behind the Harris hills
♥ Halloween lanterns glowing in the window
♥ Warming meals - pasta in cheese and parsley sauce
♥ Pale blue Autumn skies and black seed-heads
♥ A few hours gardening
♥ Vikings :)
♥ Fireworks with friends.

What ordinary - extraordinary happenings have touched you in the last Seven Days?  If you would like to join in - on any day, please leave a link in the comments, and we can all share in the joy.. xx

  2. I have enjoyed these lovely evocative images of your week. I don't know if it is the same for you on Lewis, but a couple of days of sunshine and brightness after the seemingly endless wet days recently seems like such an additional blessing.

  3. Love that first shot of yours - I think I'll have to give this a go - it is just a case of remembering to do it and have the camera at the ready at all times.

  12. Janet's comments were exactly the case for me as well. So now I must make a request: please share the recipe for the pasta! I tried to search your site to see if you might have posted it previously, but it didn't work for me. Anyway, thanks again for sharing. I enjoy your blog very much!

  13. Thank you all
    - kerri - i will try and post a recipe this week, haven't had a cooking post for a while.
Lovely to see folks joining in - there are no rules - you don't need to have 7 photos of each day. it is just good to stop now and then and notice the beauty in the ordinary things we do.
Chris - bewildered? Ah - are you wondering what those Vikings were talking about?

Hi really enjoy your blog , I am a silent reader but am very interested in the way you parent your yongest, I had my first two children at 21 and 23 and now have had my third at 36 and I am very differnt and do things very differently, did you find that too ? Also you mentioned once briefly that he slept with you in your bed, could you please do a post on how you coped with a 1 year old, your thoughts and patterns, it would be sooo helpful.

  29. I am so pleased so many of you have joined in with this. No pressure - just whenever, whatever. Loved seeing everyone;s days. I think the Vikings were my favourites - it was such a fun community night. Iain - of course all the Vikings that stayed here are always cheerful. Yo Ho indeed.
Hello Anon - thanks for your comment. I will have a wee think about that. I have 4 children and had a big gap between No 1 - who i had when i was 18, and No 2 - 10 years later, then 20 months later I had no 3, and then our big 15 year gap. I think I have parented them all differnetly, to be honest, but i am aware of so many different things this time, that I didn't know before We did co-sleep, and still do to some extent as j always seems to creep through in the night, but when he was a year old, we had our mattress on the floor,so he wouldn't fall out. I just settled him to sleep and then went throught to he sitting room for the evening. Our bedroom was just across the hall, so I could hear him if he cried. Not sure if that was what you were asking, but hope it helps.
Happy to have you along. xxx
