We may be up to our knees in mud and bog water these days, but being literally so close to the Earth affords us some intimate views of the beauty in the land. Shapes and colours we might otherwise miss are brought into delightful focus.

Gorgeous photos. I love getting up close like that. My husband wondered if you grow blueberries, or anything like that. We purchase peat to plant our blueberries in to get the right level of acidity for the plants.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs and I love seeing how you dig up the peat. I will have to show DH this as he has fond memories of peat fires from growing up in Southern Ireland. Compared to how the ground is here, it's refreshing to see the plants so moist and fertile where you are. We need rain!!!!

ReplyDeleteSandrs - we do plan to grow blueberries, in fact I have several still sitting in their pots waiting to go in on the croft. I am waiting on the ditching to be completed,as I don't want them to be harmed by the tractor. I have planted some cranberries too.
