Happy Birthday to my little girl, Kristine. It is so nice to have her nearby now - close enough to meet up for birthday lunch (and cake, of course) and a wander around town among the showers.
Yes - very nice indeed. :)
Just so you all know - Kristine has moved up for a year to study at the UHI campus in Stornoway. She is living in a house-share in the big town - about a half hour drive away from us. Happy, happy happy me:)
How wonderful to have her so nearby. Wishing her a great birthday, and hope all goes well with her year at Stornoway.
ReplyDeleteHappy, Happy Birthday Kristine!
ReplyDeleteDid she put a coca-cola red rinse on her hair? Love it! I did that shortly after I moved here and I had such fun with it! She is just so lovely!
It's almost like a hobbit birthday..where it is her birthday but you got a present (of her moving to so nearby!!).
What is she studying (called a "major" over here)?
Glad you had such a lovely time!
Megg - I think it was originally purple, but it has faded -lol. She is doing what is call an access to university course - she wants to study English Lit, but this year will study English, Maths, Sociology and Politics - so lots of degree options.
ReplyDeleteClaire - thank you - she is looking so happy and enjoying her house sharing. xxx
Lucky both of you being so near.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is 100 miles away, and it takes at least two and a half hours
How lovely for you both, happy birthday to her and hope she enjoys her studies x

ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have a special "bonus" year with your daughter. Make the most of it! I wish I could with my mom, but she is a 4-5 day drive away in New Hampshire.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a wonderful year having your daughter near. The rainbow photo is impressive!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY! Kristine lol.
ReplyDeleteDo you feel like you have 2 different families? Sometimes I do, the big-uns and the littlie. Christopher was here last week (my eldest - he is 22) and when I was talking to Oscar and said, 'who's mama's boy?' Christopher grinned and said 'Me'. Oscar looked totally confused, because I said yes Christopher was Mama's boy too. I like having my 3 here together, it doesn't happen often. Oscar knows Christopher is his 'brother' but I wonder if its just a word to him (at his age of 2 1/2). Although in saying that, when Oscar was much smaller Christopher could show up after weeks and Oscar would let him pick him up, he didnt do that with other people. Do you find its the same for you? I was wondering if having my first 2 with my first husband and Oscar with Duncan makes any difference, or if its simply down to the age gap.
